IT’S OUR TIME, QUEEN’S! IT’S TIME FOR THE QUEEN'S VOTE MOB!
The time has come for all of you golden students to use that school spirit we’re so proud of and send a message to other youth across Canada - we WILL be voting on May 2nd and so should they! The AMS will be hosting an All-Candidates Debate in Wallace Hall in the JDUC at 6 pm on April 21st, and we believe this is a great opportunity to have our voices heard. So join the Vote Mob movement that has been spreading across the country and show Canada that you want to participate in democracy and that your voice counts.
Interested? Inspired? Want to know how to get involved in the VOTE MOB and the nation-wide student movement? GREAT.
STEP 1
Watch Rick Mercer’s Call to Action for further inspiration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=225Mx6ya7SQ
STEP 2
Get informed. Check out each of the local candidates, read through their websites, and come up with questions to pose during the debate.
STEP 3
Pull out all of your finest Canadian gear (jerseys, flags, etc.) or your Queen’s apparel - guitars, bagpipes, flutes, and vuvuzelas are welcome too!
STEP 4
Meet up outside Grant Hall for 4:30 pm on Thursday, April 21st - decked out in all the Canadiana and Queen’s finery you’ve got!
STEP 5
Make. It. Happen.
So, show up dressed and ready to go for our QMob Rally! We’ll start at Grant Hall and end with a dance party at the corner of University and Union! Everyone should BRING SIGNS SHOWING US WHAT ISSUE YOU THINK IS IMPORTANT!
We want this rally to help people see that Queen’s University youth are voting and they should too! After the rally, we’ll be heading to the All-Candidates Debate to learn more about each of the local candidates - in true Queen’s fashion let’s be respectful and non-partisan as we hear all their platforms!
Start spreading the word -- QUEEN’S UNIVERSITY YOUTH WILL VOTE!
